New Bills Change Rent with Reservation Requirements

April 22, 2020.  The General Assembly has passed relief measures for tenants in House Bills 340 and 1420. HB 340 provides for a 60-day continuance in rent cases for residents who establish they have been affected by COVID-19 and HB1420 caps the late fees to be charged.

March 9, 2018.  The General Assembly has removed the requirement that landlords provide a post-judgment rent-with-reservation notice to tenants in order to file a writ of possession.  The changes may be found at http://lis.virginia.gov.

Linda Price Appears with "Hoarders'" Matt Paxton

March 8, 2018 - Linda Price spoke at the Apartment Safety Coalition's 2018 in Chesterfield, Virginia. Appearing with her was Matt Paxton, of A&E's "Hoarders." Ms. Price discussed how hoarding is now treated under Virginia Fair Housing laws, particularly in light of the American Psychiatric Association's recent inclusion of hoarding as a mental disorder.
